The updated version of popular PC rhythm action-game Ongaku is now on sale worldwide, released by Blitz 1UP and developed by SmashMouth Games

Blitz 1UP have announced the release of a new and improved version of award-winning music game Ongaku, across portals including, This release of Ongaku holds a new vision of the already popular game and a host of fantastic new features for PC gamers and rhythm action fans worldwide.
Ongaku is a 2D rhythm action game combining an original score and stylised artwork. Players take the role of the magic crystal Ongaku and progress through the fantasy kingdom of Melody by popping paint bubbles in time to the music. If successfully popped, the paint bubbles reveal an artistic masterpiece, bringing the canvas to life with its unique artwork. There are endless possibilities with a wide range of new features to customise and share your experience:

·  Enjoy 11 brand new lusciously animated levels, each with their own new music theme

·  Auto-generate playable levels from your favourite music tracks, pictures or videos using the Tune-O-Matic

·  Discover you inner artist with the ability to import your favourite media and create your own levels using the Melody Maker

Blitz signs its tenth game and launches direct selling site

Blitz 1Up hits signing milestone and sells games direct

Blitz 1UP, the indie publishing initiative from Blitz Arcade earlier this week announced its tenth signing and outlined the next phase in the scheme’s growth, with an expanding portfolio of titles, a new website selling the games direct and the addition of new distribution channels.

“With our heritage as an independent studio we’ve been able to connect with the indie scene and establish a framework for producing a continuous stream of high quality games,” says Chris Swan, Blitz 1UP’s Business Development Director.  “This next phase of growth will focus on widening our network of publishers and distributors to maximise the potential of our titles. I’m proud to announce that as of today our titles can be purchased directly from, and that this is only just the beginning for us.”

Blitz 1UP has already had a very active start to the year, with Mole Control and KrissX already finding their way to the marketplace.

“The next game to launch will be the PC title Clover: A Curious Tale on 3 March,” adds Chris. “We also have a number of additional titles already signed up for release over the next few months, so it’s a very exciting time for us.”

Blitz 1UP was formed as an outlet for small, independent teams to bring their titles – finished and unfinished – to market on XBLA, PSN, PC, WiiWare, iPhone and Flash. The initiative offers tailor-made packages to indie developers including PR, QA and access to the proprietary cross platform BlitzTech engine.
